Turtle from above
Choose two colors for neighboring shell sections before filling them. Color the broad middle areas first, then use shorter strokes beside the feet and tail.
Pond with water lilies
Give the lily pads a different green from the turtle so their outlines remain easy to follow. Leave the flower pale against darker water.
Coral reef journey
Separate the turtle from the reef with a warm shell color and cooler water. Use a sharp pencil for the branching coral, saving the wide flippers for broader strokes.
