Find a puppy that appeals

A sitting puppy or a dog with a ball is a good place to start when your child prefers large shapes. Sleeping dogs and fluffy dogs keep the focus on one character. Garden, beach and snow scenes introduce a few extra objects. The park path, orchard and mountain camp have smaller leaves and background details for children who enjoy taking their time. Choose by interest as well as the difficulty label; the suggested ages are flexible.

Invent a coat and a story

Try a familiar coat color or create a spotted purple puppy. Leave some fur white if that suits the character. Crayons fill broad bodies easily, while pencils are useful for baskets, flowers and small background spaces. Your child can name the dog, decide which toy it likes or imagine where the park path leads. There is no need to color every object. Keep a spare sheet under markers, and save the page for later if the activity feels tiring.

Choose the right paper file

Download an A4 PDF for A4 paper or a US Letter PDF for Letter paper. Print in black and white at actual size or 100%. Each design includes white margins. If an edge is clipped, choose fit to printable area. PNG downloads provide a separate image when that is more convenient.
